Listen for INTENT/UNDERSTANDING: Do not reply just to reply. That defeats the purpose of conversation and growth. Pay attention to the heart and intent of what the person is saying. Listen to understand. 
Try to be OBJECTIVE: We won’t agree on everything but try to be objective and open to people’s views as long as they’re respectful.
