The Oakland A’s (Athletics) are one of the American League’s eight charter franchises. Founded in 1901 as the Philadelphia Athletics, they won 5 World Series titles (1910, 1911, 1913, 1929 and 1930) in Philadelphia. The team relocated to Kansas City in 1955, before settling in Oakland prior to the 1968 season. Since moving to Oakland they have won 4 more World Series titles in 1972, 1973, 1974, and 1989. In the long history of Major League Baseball, only the Yankees and Cardinals have won more World Series championships than the A’s, who are tied with the Red Sox with 9 total. Just as impressive is the long list of outstanding players who have had success wearing the A’s uniform. 

Today the A’s are in the American League West Division of Major League Baseball. They play their home games at Rickey Henderson Field (formerly the Oakland Alameda Coliseum).

This club was created for all fans of the A’s to gather, no matter where they are, to chat about all things A’s baseball. From the field to the front office to the fan experience. Let’s discuss the games, players, transactions, draft, prospects, history and memorable moments of this storied franchise, as they pursue another championship.
