I’ve spent decades bringing ideas to life in software, apps and video games. Next week, starting on April 12th, I’m running my Design Your Dream App challenge. Many people have good ideas for an app they’d like to have made, but that’s just the beginning! It’s a (mostly) non-technical look at what you really need to bring an app idea to life *before* you find a developer. And it’s free - sign up today at www.DesignYourDreamApp.com to get notified when the full site goes live in a few days. About me: I got involved with computers at a very young age and have been doing it ever since. Got on the Internet in the late 80’s when IRC and Gopher is about all that was there, and started programming professionally in 1996. I got involved with the App Store when it first opened, and have been making apps and games for myself and others over the last 12+ years. In 2014, I co-founded an app company called Sideline Access as the CTO and single programmer (all the app stuff and all the database stuff, too) - we got acquired in 2016 and I had a successful exit back to solo entrepreneurship in January of 2019. My personal website/portfolio with a mix of games and apps I’ve made for myself and other people is at www.unseenthings.net These days, I teach other people how to bring their ideas to life by showing them how to make video games and design their dream apps - what to do, what not to do, and helping them understand *why* either is important. So I’m teaching video game development with Unity 3D, one of the world’s most popular engines for making games - I’ve got some free content and courses on my YouTube channel. If you got stuck, you pretty much had to bang your head against the wall until you figured it out or gave up. As a result, I’m now known as The Game Dev Coach, and I help other people when they get stuck making games.
