Matthew Jordan Smith is a Nikon Ambassador and an American photographer based in Tokyo, Japan. He is known for his portraits of celebrity subjects including Zendaya, Angelina Jolie, Oprah, Tyra and more. He is the recipient of the Microsoft Icon of Image Award, the George Eastman Power of Image Award and is the creator of a new visual art form he calls Ugokuography. Ugokimatsu is the Japanese word for movement. Smith’s Ugokuography debuted for the first time at the Kyoto Museum of Photography on September 1, 2020.
