You are my typo that feels too right to correct, my metaphor that runs away with itself, my sentence that doesn’t end because love refuses full stops I love you like bread love butter, like thunder love lightning, like rivers love running and even when the ink struggles, the story still smiles Your eyes? Subuhallah 😍 two stubborn dictionaries, whenever I look at them and find meaning, even when I wasn’t searching for a word Your laughter? A misplaced semicolon half pause, half continuation yet somehow the perfect punctuation to my restless day I love you like a rhyme that hides in plain sight, like a bond so bad but brilliant, like a joke that makes no sense until it makes every sense They told me love is blind but with you, it wears glasses with a golden lens and suddenly the world reads clearer I love you like a prose wearing perfume: the closer I get, the farther I fall. The higher I climb, the deeper I dive For i write you in the breeze like the way I rhyme you in riddles, for i carry you in commas always returning but never ending Because I love you like I write about you: delicately, brilliantly, cautiously, carefully yet wildly, wordfully, with metaphors that melt, with puns that stumble, with melodies that make no sense and yet makes perfect sense So you see you are my story’s twist, my poem’s misprint, my rhyme’s rebellion and the line I’ll never stop rewriting.
