Maker, builder, fixer, inventor. What is clubhouse for you? It reminds me of 1996 SXSW Interactive meets 2003 FooCamp. Or is it talk radio for an OCD/on-demand generation? ¶ Bio: Back in ‘97 I was a cofounder of the CueCat, a first IOT device consumer barcode reader. Time Magazine called that the worst invention of the decade - next to Segway and Microsoft Bob. ¶ In 2003 RadioShack hired me to help them with product creation. That was fun and we made a lot of cool Internet of Things. But we didn’t know to call them that, back then. ¶ In 2006, I helped the team at Slingbox compress video and send it through your firewall from your TiVo to wherever you were in the world. Before the cloud had legal content. ¶ Back in 2009 I worked with Tapulous to design a game with music from the Black Eyed Peas. It went #1 in iTunes its second day. ¶ For the past decade I’ve been leading a team building software to let machines talk to machines automatically when you walk into a room. We made a physical/proximity cookie for the real world. TBD on why that will be super cool. ¶ These days our team is helping restaurant owners be more profitable with safety during and post pandemic. That engine for food and beverage order & payment automation is called OneDine. ¶ For fun, I taught a bunch of dusty people how to solder 250,000 LEDs in the convertible husk of a 747 which drove slowly around an ancient former lake bed. Our business model was smiles per hour. ¶ I’ve been lucky enough to have spoken about gadgets on 300+ TV shows and a bunch of podcasts. Our latest is What’s Next Wall Street - explaining NFT and Stocks & the Blocks. ¶ Find me on the socials @ggdm
