My background includes global work in cinema, photojournalism, publishing and advertising. Founded Blacklight Film Festival, one of the first black film festivals, in 1982 with Chicago Filmmakers and Former New York Film Festival Director Richard Pena, at that time, director of the Film Center, School of the Art Institute. Consultant/programmer to Raindance Film Festival & BFM Festival in London. Digital film instructor, Zanzibar Film Festival in East Africa. Presently curates the 16 year old BlackWorldCinema.net program in Chicago & head of the annual Afrofuturism Film Competition.
