Hi, I am from Melbourne, Australia and I have lived in Perth and for 3 and a half years in New Zealand. I am legally blind and have worked for some of the well known blindness agencies in this part of the world. Despite my vision impairment, I am a keen amateur photographer. I do not enjoy bureaucracy, somewhat Conservative in my political views and I am transgender thus giving me a great understanding of diversity. I love to travel, I am an extrovert which is why I don’t like COVID-19 lockdowns. I run a successful access technology business called “DATA Australasia”, assisting people who are blind and have low vision to use their access technology. This includes Apple Products with the Apple VoiceOver screen reader and JAWS for Windows and NVDA for the Windows users. What I say about my job is that “I love what I do and I do what I Love”. I have a part time position with the Victorian education department working with children who are blind and have low vision. I enjoy public speaking and have been involved with Toastmasters international for many years. I have a podcast which I do with a friend, this explores how blind and Low vision people have coped with COVID-19. Throughout Australia and New Zealand. It is called the Ki Wi and the emu.
